David was one of the coolest guys in our class. We had many good laughs washing cars on Saturdays at Dave Graves Standard Service. I'm not surprised he received medals for his valor & bravery in the service. I truly felt he was the toughest player on our football team. He, Mike McArthur, & I called ourselves "The Terrible Trio" on the wrestling team. David would win at 145 lbs., then Mike at 155 lbs., then me at 167 lbs. Coach Hamilton taught us well. Thank you David for helping give us the freedoms we all have today.
The school did add a display last winter on the wall just west of the gym that highlights David's service. There is also a team picture of our 1963 team in the south east entrance to the school. That year we were Marion County Co-Champions along with Southport. David was the co-captain along with Bill Shields.
Thank you for your service Dave. The class of 1964 is getting ready to celebrate our 60th class reunion. We truely miss you very much. Always in our thoughts and memories!!!! class of '64
If you tour the high school during the reunion this Fall, be sure to look at the picture display we had made up in memory of Dave. It is hanging just inside the South Central doors by what used to the the Shop area. I have also been working on one to commeorate Dave's brother-in-law, Frank Frosch but don't think it will be done in time for the reunion.

Dave was also awarded the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. His parents ask me to go with them to Ft. Harrison and they were awarded his medals.
