Michael R. Hackett, 75, of Carmel, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021. Mike was born January 26, 1946, in Indianapolis, to the late William H. and Bernice Hackett. He was a graduate of General Motors Institute/Kettering University.

Mike was an engineer for General Motors/Rolls Royce, for 45 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Capri Christian Church in Naples, FL., Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and a 50-year member of Speedway Masonic Lodge. Mike was an active member of Scouting and YMCA Indian Guides and Princesses. He loved family, friends, and fishing, NOT NECESSARILY IN THAT ORDER. He felt blessed to be able to spend winters in Naples, but always happy to come back to Carmel after it thawed.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, October 16 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where a memorial service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 pm.

Mike is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Kevin (wife, Sharrah) Hackett and Caroline Hackett; grandson, Kaedan Hackett; siblings, William (wife, Yvette) Hackett, Jr. and Linda Hackett; sister-in-law, Karen Hackett. He was preceded in death by his brother, Denny Hackett.
