Ronald Lee Baber, 65, of Brownsburg, IN passed away on March 8, 2011 as the result of a long illness. Ron graduated from Speedway High School and held a BS degree in Industrial Education from Purdue University. He worked at Union Carbide and taught at Ivy Tech. Working at Allison-Rolls Royce was especially meaningful when he assisted with the development of the Osprey and the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft. Work provided him an opportunity to meet people from all over the world. He derived great satisfaction in bringing foreign co-workers into his home. He traveled abroad to work in Portugal and Canada. He had a passion for learning about people of other cultures and his travels included Korea, Europe, and Egypt. Ron enjoyed watercolor and oil painting, genealogy research, and especially being with his family. He leaves behind his wife, Jenise Nickey Baber; three sons, Chad Baber, Ryan Baber, and Abraham Baber; stepson, Paul J. Posey; 2 grandsons, Luke and Levi; and 4 step-grandchildren, Hillary, Jacob, Grant, and John Michael; and sister, Sueann Alma and husband Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Mildred Baber. Visitation will be 4-8pm Thurs. March 10 and 1-2pm Fri. March 11 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 2pm Fri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ron's name to Methodist Health Foundation Organ Transplants, PO Box 7168, Indianapolis, IN 46207-7168.
